Known for her strong classical foundation and expressive voice, she has made significant contributions to film music, stage performances, television, and music education.
She began performing at a very young age and recorded her first playback song with Padmashree K. J. Yesudas early in her career. Over the years, she has sung in more than thirty South Indian films, collaborating with several renowned music directors, and has also rendered numerous popular album songs.
She has received multiple recognitions, including nominations for the Kerala State Film Awards, the Asianet Serial Award (2007) for the most popular song, and holds the distinction of being an ‘A’ Grade artist of All India Radio (AIR) and Doordarshan. Her performance career includes prestigious stage shows across India and abroad, alongside eminent artists, as well as appearances in major cultural festivals and television programmes.
As an educator, Saritha Ram is deeply committed to nurturing musical excellence. She is a CCRT Scholarship holder in Carnatic Music, has received advanced training under eminent gurus, and has completed a two-year Hindustani Music course from Akhila Bharatheeya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, Mumbai.
Her academic background includes double graduation in Music and Sociology, a Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism, and formal training in Bharathanatyam from Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan. She brings together performance insight, classical discipline, and mentorship skills to guide students in film, light, devotional, and classical music, with a strong emphasis on expression, confidence, and stage readiness.
