Renowned vocalist and music educator with over 30 years of experience in performance, recording, and mentoring aspiring musicians.
Preetha Prasad hails from Palakkad, Kerala, and spent her early years in Bengaluru, where her passion for music took root at a young age.
She later moved to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where she has built a distinguished musical career spanning over three decades. During this time, she has performed extensively on radio and television and has lent her voice to numerous film songs, music albums, advertisements, and commercial productions.
She has also sung in the Malayalam movie album Akale, under the music direction of Music Director M. Jayachandran, including the song Sharoonile Shishirame.
An accomplished vocalist and dedicated music educator, Preetha has served as a faculty member at the Temple of Fine Arts, teaching Carnatic Classical Music, and at Odyssey Music Centre, where she taught Light Music under renowned composer Jay.
Her expertise has earned her opportunities to serve as a judge on popular Malaysian television reality shows on Astro, including Big Stage Tamil Season 2. In recognition of her outstanding contribution to Indian music in Malaysia, she received the prestigious Anugerah Industri Muzik (AIM) Award for Best Female Vocalist – Indian Music (Films) in 2013.
Apart from her musical accomplishments, she has also showcased her versatility as an actress, portraying the lead role of Lakshmi in the Astro Vinmeen television series Thural.
