Maathu Kalyani began her travel with Music since her childhood and has been learning carnatic music for 15 years.
Maathu Kalyani's musical journey commenced in her early childhood, and she has been dedicated to learning Carnatic music for over 15 years. Her initial training was under Shri Sunil Lal from Kollam, followed by advanced mentorship with Gaanabhooshanam Shri Thrikkadavur Tulaseedharan Pillai, a distinguished graded artist of All India Radio.
Throughout her academic years, Maathu actively participated in numerous music competitions, consistently securing accolades from primary school through university levels. Her exceptional performances earned her the esteemed title of 'Kalaathilakam' on multiple occasions. She was selected for 'Prabhavalayam,' a talent hunt programme conducted by All India Radio across Kerala, where she was honored as the "Popular Singer" by audience acclaim. Beyond school and university festivals, she has achieved recognition in state-level competitions such as Gramolsavam and Keralolsavam, organized by the Government of Kerala.
Maathu has had the privilege of performing at the prestigious Chembai Sangeetholsavam at Guruvayur Temple for consecutive years. Her repertoire includes musical fusions and classical concerts presented during Navaratri festivals, television broadcasts, and various other esteemed events. Her vocal contributions have been featured in numerous musical albums. In addition to her musical pursuits, Maathu holds a postgraduate degree in English Language and Literature and has completed the Sangeetabhooshanam diploma in Carnatic Music. She continues to refine her artistry through advanced training in Carnatic, Hindustani, and Western classical styles. Recently, she was accredited as a Grade Artist in Light Music by All India Radio.
